Body Image & Mental Health - Dr Eva PilaĀ
Introduction
Body image concerns fall along a spectrum, from normal discontent to disordered body image, affecting energy, attention, and engagement with life. The normalisation of body dissatisfaction makes it difficult to address as a serious issue, but by unlearning societal messages and cultivating a mindful and connected approach to the body, positive changes can be achieved. Self-compassion practices, including short activities like meditation, have shown toĀ improve how we feel in our bodies.Ā Through this conversation, Shannon and Dr Eva Pila explore various interventions and approaches to improve body image and mental health, aiming for flourishing well-being and understanding the broader context of an individual's relationship with their body and nutrition.
